2020.01 Unfolding a New Decade

For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:11-13

God’s timing in my life is rarely like mine. However, unlike me He is never late. The company my license is associated with cannot do business with me in Oregon the way they do with their parent state workers and therefore on the cusp of having an actual pipeline of business so I must reluctantly switch companies. In less than 45 minutes of hunting, discovered a place that is “urgently” looking for even the youngest of loan officers that may be just what I need. I have three potential loans and cannot do a one of them right now with my current company, so time is of the essence. Plunk! There it was, the only one. We shall see what transpires. Wanting to get moving as soon as possible. Additionally they are W-2, have benefits and profit sharing – all very attractive.

Our Lord is clearly the biggest tension provider to every story, that is the thing that seems most clear to me. He waits until the Israelites can stand it no longer before moving them out of Egypt, then when they are hemmed in by the Red Sea and the Egyptians gaining, the chariots flying furiously after this slow moving herd of people, animals and children, Moses holds out his stick and the sea parts and the mass of messiness scurries their bodies across in time to turn around to see the Egyptians getting a good washing.

This time I see this odd sense of timing of getting the news just as I’m ready to have some business as God’s swooping in to shift me another direction that might be more advantageous in ways I have not known. Hoping it’s true. Hoping they will respond quickly and won’t care that I’m old and starting over. The story tension is at it’s peak – looking for hope and relief.

Trusting today,

Kiki

Old song from the early ages of the Jesus movement. Silly but makes me smile.
